Security
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Fifth Ledger is built for small businesses that want to safeguard their financial records and data. Security is not an add-on — it is how the platform is designed.
No bank connections
We deliberately do not connect to your bank. Statements are imported by you or your accountant, so your banking credentials are never entered into, transmitted to, or stored by Fifth Ledger.
Data isolation
Every company's records are isolated at the database level with row-level access rules. Users can only reach the company files they have been granted access to — no one else's data is ever readable from your account.
Encryption and access control
- All traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS.
- Data is encrypted at rest in our managed cloud database.
- Role-based access: owners, accountants, and viewers each see only what their role allows.
- Administrator access to client files is limited to support and service delivery, and is logged.
Reporting a concern
